Trauma is a fact of life. But trauma does not have to be a life sentence.

– Dr. Peter A. Levine

Trauma may have entered your life in a number of devastating ways such as a car accident, an assault, childhood abuse or neglect, combat exposure, an abusive partner or parent, the loss of a loved one, witnessing or living through a horrific event, a sudden life transition, or loss of a job.

But it does not have to stay.

There is hope… real hope for trauma and post traumatic stress disorder or the PTSD symptoms you may be experiencing.

There are trauma-focused therapeutic modalities that can be very effective in helping to relieve PTSD symptoms and heal the trauma.

My name is David Wever and as a licensed psychotherapist and certified trauma specialist, I have had the honor over the past 21 years to walk alongside of the bravest people I know as they move from the devastating trauma they’ve experienced to hope, freedom, peace, and solace.

I offer 4-hour Trauma-Focused Intensives to help decrease, alleviate, and heal the devastating effects of trauma and PTSD. Within a 4-hour Trauma-Focused Intensive, we will identify the trauma, choose a trauma therapeutic modality that best serves the traumatic event or trauma symptoms you are experiencing, and begin to work with the parts of you that hold the trauma. The therapeutic trauma modalities I am trained and/or certified in are EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Brainspotting, and IFS (Internal Family Systems). I am also trained in trauma symptom regulation techniques and Somatic Experiencing techniques.

Significant healing can occur in one 4-hour Trauma-Focused Intensive for Single Event Trauma. Complex PTSD may take more time than just one 4-hour Intensive, but mapping out your trauma history and beginning to work on an important event or symptom can be the start of moving from the prison of trauma to empowered and compassionate living once again. Many of my clients experiencing Complex PTSD may continue to work on their trauma histories through monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly 4-hour Trauma-Focused Intensives. We can talk about what may be best for you during your free consultation session.

Why 4 hours instead of a normal 50-minute psychotherapy session? Although a normal 50-minute individual psychotherapy hour may be beneficial to working through trauma, a 50-minute session is often not adequate enough to allow the brain to go into the free associated state that many of the trauma-focused therapeutic modalities facilitate to bring relief and change to an unprocessed memory and emotional disturbance that one may be feeling as a result of trauma and PTSD symptoms. My 4-hour Trauma-Focused Intensives also allow the opportunity to progress through your trauma history or PTSD symptoms in a more succinct and focused process without the quick interruption of a 50-minute hour.

I would like to offer you a free telephone or video conferencing consultation session to answer any questions you may have about the 4-hour Trauma-Focused Intensives and to share how I can help you find solace beyond trauma and PTSD. Please feel free to call me or email me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a free consultation.

No matter if you decide to work with me or not, my hope is that you will find a trained professional who can help you find solace beyond the trauma and PTSD you are experiencing…. Because you truly are worth every courageous step you take.

Take care,

David
